Matson v Richians 29th November 2009

Matson 26 Old Richians 7

Richians travelled to Matson, on a horrendous day weather wise.

The Redwell Road side, seemed to acclimatize to the worsening conditions, quicker than the visitors to open the scoring.

Jack Lewis made a lovely break, before being halted by the Matson defence.

Some try saving tackles were made by Keiron Stranger, John, Malik Kent and Toby Freeman.

However Matson were able to score again, with their kicker having his eye in, even in the inclement conditions, to kick his 2nd conversion.

Unfortunately Richians played for 3/4 of the game with 14 men, which given the conditions put huge pressure on their defence.

In the 2nd half, Richians scored a try through Ryan Bayliss, with Toby Freeman kicking the extras.

A hard game with the wind and rain for the players, and when the final whistle came the parents watching were just as relieved to get off the side of the pitch.
